</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hi All! I thought I would start posting again after a loooooong break and share with you a really cute, and easy gift to give someone :} Several months ago, I stumbled onto a recipe for making your own homemade laundry detergent on Pinterest and just had to try it out! Laundry detergent can be so expensive and I'm always looking for ways to stretch my dollars. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The recipe I based mine off of was from, the "Queen of Doing Laundry", Michelle Duggar from the show 19 Kids and Counting. I figured if it works for her than it will work for me right? Her <a href="http://www.duggarfamily.com/content/duggar_recipes/30456/powdered_laundry_detergent_top_load_machine" target="_blank">recipe</a>, on their website, calls for: 1 bar Fels-Naptha, 1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, and 1/2 cup of Borax that's it! I found all of the ingredients easily in the laundry isle in Walmart. I tried it out and for sure this stuff is wonderful!! It smells awesome, works better than the expensive brands, and is so incredibly cheap!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Over time, I made my recipe with 1 full cup of Borax instead of 1/2 cup, just because it was easier for me to remember. This brain can't seem to remember much nowadays! Also, if you wanted to save on Fabric Softener, you can use plain old vinegar! Just put some in the Fabric Softener Dispenser and it will also clean your washing machine and make it smell fresh! All ingredients listed above is perfectly safe for HE washers too! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep in mind the amount that fills the jar in the picture is a double batch of the <a href="http://www.duggarfamily.com/content/duggar_recipes/30456/powdered_laundry_detergent_top_load_machine" target="_blank">recipe</a> :}</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today is a new challenge over at The Outlawz in the <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/saturdayscarpbookingchallenge/forum/topics/paper-a-la-mode-june-9-june-16" target="_blank">Paper A La Mode</a> group! The challenge is to make something other than a card. I needed to make my mom a much overdue birthday present (like April overdue...OOPS!) and thought this would be the perfect project!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyJvHTBZcVZE9Sxe9ASPqpqsyyMuDs1fbz8VOF4CdAAVaq-h3xOPltUfihyphenhyphenolX1srEKg9VEx9Umz0yWwc1OizKDvitgbRjUCasSqlUDrmFYPCs7_Wu9FsyaIK2Vx9EIOpx_laRfpn70B0/s1600/DSC_0805.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyJvHTBZcVZE9Sxe9ASPqpqsyyMuDs1fbz8VOF4CdAAVaq-h3xOPltUfihyphenhyphenolX1srEKg9VEx9Umz0yWwc1OizKDvitgbRjUCasSqlUDrmFYPCs7_Wu9FsyaIK2Vx9EIOpx_laRfpn70B0/s320/DSC_0805.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found an old glass container with an airtight lid to use (so the detergent doesn't clump) and wanted to label the jar. I decided to cut a design out of vinyl on my Silhouette SD, place it on the jar, and then use their Etching Cream to etch the design onto the glass. So fun!! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT-W9woLR4w98j-MpXzKx5aTxN-qZQxhXZsi6J7nbbxRLQwc0eFf6xhdafG9PP0E_sXY2s4L7ytmxJ2GyxMLMNMzkRfohXPz3YG88Z5d1e4kJMOr3ajgDooYx9KlyzaTzY3jYmmmSWPas/s1600/DSC_0808.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT-W9woLR4w98j-MpXzKx5aTxN-qZQxhXZsi6J7nbbxRLQwc0eFf6xhdafG9PP0E_sXY2s4L7ytmxJ2GyxMLMNMzkRfohXPz3YG88Z5d1e4kJMOr3ajgDooYx9KlyzaTzY3jYmmmSWPas/s400/DSC_0808.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then made a cute little tag on the Silhouette out of Echo Park's This & That Graceful paper and then printed the recipe out on it too. I tied a large sage green ribbon around the top of the jar and left the lid empty because my mom would have to open and close it a lot. Tied the tag with a bit of twine, slapped on some ribbon, stickers, flower and a brad and we were good to go!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM2aJqdDkTPBFlCQ4GzJAjiLKWpCvlBC9kimEV-en-_GQz_2ccYeQib4iKMzpGmGbrOx1ej4tZwORH7TtuluSdnpRgBiCemMRgkORqwjobpzkso7rknNAwT3SwxUsyFbf66t_wELsaOeU/s1600/DSC_0825.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM2aJqdDkTPBFlCQ4GzJAjiLKWpCvlBC9kimEV-en-_GQz_2ccYeQib4iKMzpGmGbrOx1ej4tZwORH7TtuluSdnpRgBiCemMRgkORqwjobpzkso7rknNAwT3SwxUsyFbf66t_wELsaOeU/s320/DSC_0825.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A close up of the design for the label.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcQETDCrmJxq9-AvugVFC2eS2L49aeLHh78_3i7EGcd2TtVQ6dnV8aSV-UNgJOsRdwsHU4LWZFYqrjfq15FYe2mpEPVkGu-Cs0RD9S_1RUZSxRkIRcOm7AW6s7wn2IfOhCDHsxGP4R_8Q/s1600/DSC_0788.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcQETDCrmJxq9-AvugVFC2eS2L49aeLHh78_3i7EGcd2TtVQ6dnV8aSV-UNgJOsRdwsHU4LWZFYqrjfq15FYe2mpEPVkGu-Cs0RD9S_1RUZSxRkIRcOm7AW6s7wn2IfOhCDHsxGP4R_8Q/s320/DSC_0788.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the jar without the detergent inside. You can see the design a bit better here.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is exactly how I made this recipe for Laundry Detergent! First, I poured all of the Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda and Borax into my food processor with the blade to help mix it up well. Then, I used the grater to grate the Fels-Naptha Bar into the other mixture while mixing at the same time so it was well blended. You could grate the Fels-Naptha by hand too, but make sure to mix all of the ingredients well before using. Use 1 tablespoon for light loads and two tablespoons for heavy loads. I use two and a half because I have a colossal size washer and do very large loads. You can use a bar of Fels-Naptha to rub onto stains as a pre-treat and it works wonderfully! Lots of grass stains in this family!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you liked this cute little gift idea and the recipe if you try it! Hopefully it will not take me 8 months to post again! </div>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is the little pumpkin card I made for the stitching challenge at <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a>. I stitched some orange fabric on a canvas background. I even curled some strips of fabric for the stems! To cute! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAfJWvrjQZSsdipDbViHePe3vAd3gkpCfltrcZNtm3P-Rlym3Y7DCqepNHWaLFVBoaMlSwA_RgemH_EVaBUGsc15kN3ROe9TIvzuUuGzLYAHG9tDoGJclzhs1vbVs_aK66j1LY61lfMWc/s1600/DSC_0508+edited.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAfJWvrjQZSsdipDbViHePe3vAd3gkpCfltrcZNtm3P-Rlym3Y7DCqepNHWaLFVBoaMlSwA_RgemH_EVaBUGsc15kN3ROe9TIvzuUuGzLYAHG9tDoGJclzhs1vbVs_aK66j1LY61lfMWc/s400/DSC_0508+edited.jpg" width="368" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">This is the anything goes card. I used a yellow sketch pen on my Silhouette SD to create the background and used all Basic Grey papers for this one :} Purty!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkt1cDZKlGzGlXxbzPqOfXq0f5eEj67-JCUeCBvvbSh4O57bEM2PjUYVwrT8lkJzDkBd2FxxsRvlp_0-ryoYnYUz1Ph5PGObPzU1WJwT3DCkwn58ZmKRZu6QiUUepndh5BfLKlcwZdimE/s1600/DSC_0524.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkt1cDZKlGzGlXxbzPqOfXq0f5eEj67-JCUeCBvvbSh4O57bEM2PjUYVwrT8lkJzDkBd2FxxsRvlp_0-ryoYnYUz1Ph5PGObPzU1WJwT3DCkwn58ZmKRZu6QiUUepndh5BfLKlcwZdimE/s400/DSC_0524.jpg" width="330" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hey peeps! How is everyone doing this fine evening? I gotta say I'm doing pretty good today :} I was just brought up to bed by my hubbie carrying me up the stairs and then ever so gently placing me on our bed. Yea, I know....TMI but it's not what you think. My back and hip were hurting me so he was nice enough to bring me upstairs so I could get some work done on the computer from the comfort of my bed :} Ahhh.......what a life indeed!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today was good day....not too crazy.....not too busy.....not too....well.....me. Finley had a sleepover last night and the moment her guest went home the phone rang and it was her Aunt Kathleen wanting to come and steal her for another playdate. Gotta love that! Hubby was working and I was left with Cameron. Got to work on a card and finished in under an hour!! That's unheard of for me! But I did it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Know on to the good stuff. Over at <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a> we have a new challenge up for the <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/saturdayscarpbookingchallenge/forum/topics/scrapbook-challenge-january">Scrapbooking Group</a>. The challenge is to use stitching/sewing and fabric! My two most favorite things to use on my projects! Love it! Below please see my example for the challenge. That's my Pudge (Lily) all smiles and laughs. Gotta love that little girl and I just wish she would stay a little girl forever! Tears!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjn_Y1bu1FRQ2uw_ztyFBInBCWW3jJQ0dAOveFw9CWF_GpwmM6wd9Heyyno3wPeaiH5rliNahWX-_GoRhSmM1RyAQGGTWI4DmX1YUlRHHopJZpUiWQK7LXKkpKhENBHgClHOnAoFkRoD8/s1600/DSC_0672.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjn_Y1bu1FRQ2uw_ztyFBInBCWW3jJQ0dAOveFw9CWF_GpwmM6wd9Heyyno3wPeaiH5rliNahWX-_GoRhSmM1RyAQGGTWI4DmX1YUlRHHopJZpUiWQK7LXKkpKhENBHgClHOnAoFkRoD8/s320/DSC_0672.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used mostly Crate Paper for this. The pink scallops in the background are actually embossed onto white fabric. I also used a touch a fabric behind the tree, on the flower and the wings on the birds, and also the banners are fabric stampes with Stamps Of Life stamps. I stitched everywhere and anywhere I could. I think it turned out quite nice don't ya think? I just love that little girl to pieces!</div><br />
<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">This card I made for the CAS challenge over at <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a>. Love how it turned out! I used some Fancy Pants rub-ons for the background, hearts and sentiment. Fabulous and easy! Under an hour people! It's a record for me! Just don't count on it happening again :}</div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT5bdk7ojUkAKasw21NX6JPkXWo3e8y8Jrm0BAUbckXaM3dtwkfOh3w-pdXvz94G8ew0jCYCR3TIDSmXzyJcEABbZXbXHoLDNP3pp_iYooYZli2VDxiZJdpbBkr6JtqzKW1zEW6jFvBPg/s1600/DSC_0687.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT5bdk7ojUkAKasw21NX6JPkXWo3e8y8Jrm0BAUbckXaM3dtwkfOh3w-pdXvz94G8ew0jCYCR3TIDSmXzyJcEABbZXbXHoLDNP3pp_iYooYZli2VDxiZJdpbBkr6JtqzKW1zEW6jFvBPg/s320/DSC_0687.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This little number I also did for the CAS challenge over at <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a>, but for last week's challenge and the one above is for this week's. Used some Cosmo Cricket, Unity Stamp for the background of the birds, and Stamps Of Life for the birds, hearts and sentiment.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Can you believe it!? Two posts in one night! I also posted about The Moxie Fab Color Challenge before this post so be sure to check that out too. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Here is the birthday card I made for Finley's birthday. I also made it for the Moxie Fab<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #6aa84f;"> Bright & Bold Color Challenge</span> over at Moxie Fab World. This is the first time I have entered a challenge there and can't wait to see who wins! I'm so in love with <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #6aa84f;">Color Inspiration For Card Makers Magazine</span> from Paper Crafts! Did ya miss me?It's been a long time since my last post I know, but life has a funny way of..well.....getting in the way. Had to take some time off from some things I enjoyed like being on a design team, blogging and taking part in challenges. With two of my kids starting Pa Cyber Charter school they needed my full attention, and so did my house for that matter. If anyone has ever tried to home school your children then you get what I mean. VERY TIME CONSUMING!!<br />
<br />
As part of my New Year's Resolutions I hope to keep up with my blog a bit more this year and bring tons of inspiration to you. I can't promise how often I'll post, but I will promise to post much more. Deal?<br />
<br />
All is better now and I am very happy to say that I have been accepted onto <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a> Design Team!! If you haven't checked out this new challenge community please do! I feel very blessed to be given this opportunity to work with some awesomely talented ladies! A bunch of them I had the pleasure of working with before and I'm very excited to be reunited with them again :}<br />
<br />
I am a designer for The Scrapbooking Group over at <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a> and below you will see my first project completed for the swirls and butterflies challenge. This was so much fun to do and who doesn't like to work with butterflies and swirls? I hope you find some inspiration from my layout and decide to hop on over to <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/">The Outlawz</a> and give it a whirl! There are several other awesome challenges there too that just might tickle your fancy. <br />
<br />

Sweet Little Thing<br />

<br />
I used mostly Crate Paper's Restoration Collection paper. Fancy Pants chipboard flourish, American Crafts Dear Lizzy metal butterfly and metal rose brads, American Crafts rose ribbon, Tattered Angels antique key, The Stamps Of Life butterfly2build set for the two dimensional butterflies, Sassafras silhouette brad, floral flourish cut on my Silhouette. <br />
<br />
I did a couple of little techniques on this layout that I wanted to share. On the big chipboard flourish I used both Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink in scattered sraw and Making Memories moss stain along the edges and then applied Tattered Angel's suede Glimmer Mist with a foam brush to even out the colors and give it a bit of sparkle too. Yummy! On the green floral die cut that sits on top of the large flourish I used a lighter green American Crafts Zing Embossing Powder. Once the powder was applied to whole die cut, I took a paint brush and brushed off just a little here and there so the darker base paper would show through in some places giving it some dimension. I stamped the butterflies with brown ink first and then stamped again with gold on top to give it more of an antique feel and I think it worked quite well.<br />
<br />
Next up I hope to finish Finley's (my little girl that's not so little anymore) b-day invitations for a sleepover she will have soon. Her b-day was on January 13th and she turned 6, but we have her celebration later in the month or early the following month because of it being so close to Christmas. Hopefully I'll have those for you in the next few days. Until then.....TTFN!Sharon Rittlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09813874881396964471noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2899203842434843074.post-42322138128964108352010-06-14T09:57:00.000-04:002010-06-14T10:35:50.187-04:00Ready for some summer fun?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL6wTXkXl8JxX-gSU7IfD32RA0xIjjWNDu4NbZi2ckWd2ad3NhLDoY8GrcglTkvzkVtxBgQgawvJee_gOYq4dGAQ93Q4bpd-Vxb-yq6886nEH5YXHDKsebtPDiO4zjuRWNLaQ75us6ySQ/s1600/FunInTheSunFlyer_Page_0+(1).jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 280px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL6wTXkXl8JxX-gSU7IfD32RA0xIjjWNDu4NbZi2ckWd2ad3NhLDoY8GrcglTkvzkVtxBgQgawvJee_gOYq4dGAQ93Q4bpd-Vxb-yq6886nEH5YXHDKsebtPDiO4zjuRWNLaQ75us6ySQ/s320/FunInTheSunFlyer_Page_0+(1).jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482637818535077730" /></a><br /><br />Then you won't want to miss this weekend's crop over at Simply Scrapping Crafts!!!! It was killing me! Then, on Tuesdays & Thursdays Finley would have Pre-school too so, we would go back to the house for about an hour and then out the door again! Enough about my hard life right?<br /><br />I've got some more scrappy goodies that I managed to get done over the past week or so. Over at SSC the girls are coming up with some incredibly gorgeous projects to feast your eyes on for sure! Please come and stop by <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/">here</a> and check out all of the yummy inspiration!! Remember, in each group we are giving away RAKS to the projects we choose that's most creative!! Also, for each project done for a challenge you are entered into the random drawing to become Designer Of The Month and receive a whole lot of scrappin' goodies from Miss Judy herself! That's cool right?!<br /><br />I'm so glad I decided to be apart of the Simply Scrapping DT because they are the most incredibly talented & awesome girls around! Love it!! Nothing but creativity and NO DRAMA!!! It's so nice to not have to deal with daily DRAMA!! Thank you so much SSC!<br /><br />This card below I made for Paper Scraps Challenge Week # 2! You had to make a tree made out of butterflies! How cool is that?! I went a little nuts on mine, but we all know I'm a little nuts so that's fine. My blade was really dull on my Silhouette so I had to basically cut everything 3 TIMES!!! This was the most time consuming card, but sooo worth it!! I put little Swarovski Crystals in the center of each butterfly and tied a bit of string in a bow to make it more whimsical. I'm not sure I'm liking the flourish button bird, but had no time to take it off. Hope you like it!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3C8eg6YIWDsqHKqFwMmNc65cgJ1z_dt1doLMU_PKcFecBoBC32NKDpL1ivvZCk3H-Mzvz0hdD5HYnS2hsWdRYHzUOgpy-8AQMq5qQjQWCq7HLoUJjcHWDIs6wvKEbTGbEgLRvkZVxjFE/s1600/DSC_0211.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 243px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3C8eg6YIWDsqHKqFwMmNc65cgJ1z_dt1doLMU_PKcFecBoBC32NKDpL1ivvZCk3H-Mzvz0hdD5HYnS2hsWdRYHzUOgpy-8AQMq5qQjQWCq7HLoUJjcHWDIs6wvKEbTGbEgLRvkZVxjFE/s320/DSC_0211.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481181486969781842" /></a><br /><br />This first layout I did for June week #1 of Sketchy Saturdays challenge over at SSC that's up now. The girls are enjoying their HUGE lollipops Daddy gave them so I thought this would make a really cute layout. I used some older Making Memories paper along with a Fancy Pants transparency at the top. Of course, there is lots of stitching and color! I think it turned out really cute! <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG4ZqzTKc3cIVNkZB98dy4Lbxw8Lx1n8LPUEJHKUFyer3u1RCE3GNdrwD0sb6N6cu0Ih-boY185we1grXGbba7SrWRplBfbW7wC2jvvMGLiKV1qImyLJq8bxI23nm46iA7rQa_tYRn8E8/s1600/DSC_0177.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 315px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG4ZqzTKc3cIVNkZB98dy4Lbxw8Lx1n8LPUEJHKUFyer3u1RCE3GNdrwD0sb6N6cu0Ih-boY185we1grXGbba7SrWRplBfbW7wC2jvvMGLiKV1qImyLJq8bxI23nm46iA7rQa_tYRn8E8/s320/DSC_0177.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481181481594664066" /></a><br /><br />This one I had done for May week #5 Sketchy Saturdays at SSC too. These are some of the very first pictures I took with my brand new Nikon D3000 camera!! I sooooo love my new camera! It takes awesome pictures for sure! Don't the girls look so cute together? I think so! I stitched a circle and put different size die cut butterflies with brads around it. I chose to use two black & white photos so the colors wouldn't compete so much. I also wrapped some yellow and white ribbon around a Pink Paislee chipboard border for some added interest. I love the way it turned out and it's completely different then I had originally planned it to be. Love it!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrZpF3llr-XOihXZJIszPPcceK7CNkYKqsemCNNVGmBHrqW9Nk-ye_v5pXyjkSoFgHASKr_3UCTDwSx7rP56n06b1XhEpd3NYZPYLpVbNvJt2EN90kNEKeKDG5U_nCvcw33q-oQF06qg/s1600/DSC_0171+(2).jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 311px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrZpF3llr-XOihXZJIszPPcceK7CNkYKqsemCNNVGmBHrqW9Nk-ye_v5pXyjkSoFgHASKr_3UCTDwSx7rP56n06b1XhEpd3NYZPYLpVbNvJt2EN90kNEKeKDG5U_nCvcw33q-oQF06qg/s320/DSC_0171+(2).jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481181479861830146" /></a><br /><br />Below is the very cute altered frame I made for Finley's Pre-School Teacher Mrs. Marti. I just die cut some flourishes and added some other little goodies and it was easy peasy! She loved it so much because the picture was of the whole class. How's that for awesome!! I am co-leading the group Sketchy Saturdays, and will also be designing for the Paper Scraps & Wacky Wednesday Groups as well!! I'll be busy, busy, busy for sure, but it's good and fun busy so that's ok! Please come over and check us out because I'm sure you will have a blast with all the challenges and other fun stuff over there! You can check out the main site <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/">here</a>. You can also go directly to the Sketchy Saturday Group <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/group/sketchysaturdays">here</a> and check out all of May's challenges, including a brand new awesome sketch that's been posted this morning! I'm so very blessed to be able to work with all those fabulous ladies over at SSC and I'm having a blast doing it!</div><div><br /></div><div>Now, on to some more craziness! My son Cameron had to have a Colonoscopy and Endosopy last Monday at John's Hopkins Hospital. He did ok, but it was pretty brutal for him to go through the prep and the procedure itself. They ended up taking at least 5 or 6 biopsies to send off to Pathology so we will have to wait and see what they found. During the procedure they did find that he had Gastritis and also a problem with bile flowing backwards when it shouldn't. There is a technical term for that, but I can't pronounce it let alone spell it! We are hoping and praying that he does not have Inflammatory Bowel Disease like me. He has started on his new medications, but they tend to make his stomach hurt even more so we will see how long these last for him.</div><div><br /></div><div>I will be back later with a few pictures of my latest work including my example for the Sketchy Saturday Challenge that's up! I will also show you a picture of the frame I altered for my daughter's pre-school teacher Miss Marti! It turned out so cute! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed the holiday! TTFN!! </div>Sharon Rittlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09813874881396964471noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2899203842434843074.post-77077247910225945442010-05-09T10:31:00.000-04:002010-05-09T10:40:23.607-04:00It's official!!I'm a brand new member of the Colorful Creations Design Team on Ning!!!! Be sure to come on over and check us out. There will be lots of challenges and the girls a super nice over there. You can check them out <a href="http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/">here</a>.<br /><br />I made a quick card yesterday for my neice's birthday. I used it for a challenge over at SSC as well. You had to use the same shape at least 6 times so I used a pennant stamp from The Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard. I will spend my weekend getting crafty and with the family of course :} I've got some more goodies to show ya so, sit back and relax and take it all in!<br /><br />I've got some more exciting news to share with you! I'm gonna try out for another DT over at Colorful Creations on Ning! They are an awesome group of girls over there so go and check them out <a href="http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/">here</a>. If your interested in the DT Call you will need to hurry up and get yours in because it ends this Saturday night May 9th at midnight! I've got my fingers crossed :} On to some crafty stuff!<br /><br />Below is a layout I did for a challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts on Ning as well. You had to use multiple of the same photo so I used some smaller black & white of the larger photo in this layout. It's of my daughter Finley sitting pretty on our porch for our Christmas pictures. This isn't the actual picture we used for Christmas, but it was a good one of her. <i> </i>I used mostly K & Company Carolyn Gavin Specialty paper, KI Memories lace cardstock, Fancy Pants stamps (hearts) rub ons & chipboard, Prima flower, Quickutz Silhouette (title). Love the colors on this layout!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLSAlFASzFKwn6pymYg-mosJnCvRJ1rD1Uib-qU5uUMlfC6AfwLxiV8m44ckmRvnRZN-96j1F47-AWwTKE40EJA3NvJ6yiVE_FiYn6HHChjBh4676d8bakJAVi23OIr5rZz_tbqXXnis/s1600/2010-04-30+18-20-57+-+DSCF2032.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 312px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLSAlFASzFKwn6pymYg-mosJnCvRJ1rD1Uib-qU5uUMlfC6AfwLxiV8m44ckmRvnRZN-96j1F47-AWwTKE40EJA3NvJ6yiVE_FiYn6HHChjBh4676d8bakJAVi23OIr5rZz_tbqXXnis/s320/2010-04-30+18-20-57+-+DSCF2032.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689445506320370" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhopcu8Ptz5KHOEZyPeqwtjebW8s4Pp5pAAQ6eCg9VNWwdz9hn0Epz0-Z4TcbCxW6XqGg3D_MGke5uakNv31Gbhr8mPp6wXL8WLGIRo6Usd5lzxPuK87HEgHAq8JO5ur5Y-kBgPEoN10So/s1600/2010-04-30+18-21-57+-+DSCF2036.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhopcu8Ptz5KHOEZyPeqwtjebW8s4Pp5pAAQ6eCg9VNWwdz9hn0Epz0-Z4TcbCxW6XqGg3D_MGke5uakNv31Gbhr8mPp6wXL8WLGIRo6Usd5lzxPuK87HEgHAq8JO5ur5Y-kBgPEoN10So/s320/2010-04-30+18-21-57+-+DSCF2036.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689439673964418" /></a><br /><div>This is a card also for a challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts on Ning. We had to use accordion folding somewhere on a card or layout. I chose to use it in a border & as leaves above the flower. I used Kaiser Craft papers lace flower, pearl brad, lace ribbon & rub ons, Bazzill cardstock, Quickutz Silhouette rose shape for the flower. I cut out the individual rose layers on the Silhouette in two different sizes and then distressed and inked the edges. Then, layered them in different directions and attached them in the center with the pearl brad. Easy peasy!! Totally dig the colors on this card!! Now, who to give it to? You know your getting it Lisa don't worry!!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheoZWVQ_IZKVKp60BiUjZLOxevFwg2OBN1ktCvUmvKyh69dxExRQDjTdyXaVuTz0xKL73XRmlU04KE7O_6_zWJT5ti26iyXBQZIZ9ApCJ4gGmoAfmCS9mOni-Glpj3IxuugzQxyri6FWI/s1600/2010-04-30+18-23-28+-+DSCF2040.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 281px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheoZWVQ_IZKVKp60BiUjZLOxevFwg2OBN1ktCvUmvKyh69dxExRQDjTdyXaVuTz0xKL73XRmlU04KE7O_6_zWJT5ti26iyXBQZIZ9ApCJ4gGmoAfmCS9mOni-Glpj3IxuugzQxyri6FWI/s320/2010-04-30+18-23-28+-+DSCF2040.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689111982754002" /></a><br /></div><div>This next one was so fun to do because it only took about 30 minutes to complete! That's right people.....30 minutes!! That is a record for me for sure!! For NSD over at Simply Scrapping Crafts the challenge was to create layouts or cards in 2 hours and get them posted before the next challenge went up. I only could do 2 of them and this is the first one. Here we were on our familymoon (honeymoon) in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean. What a gorgeous place!! I chose black & white photos so they wouldn't compete too much with colored papers. The huge floral stamp is from Inque Boutique, as well as the bottom corner one. The paper is from a Scarlet Lime Kit. They are awesome kits and you can check them out <a href="http://www.scarletlime.com/">here</a>.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlc-XL53Z3vbE0FxnPMwEYsoz55ivmoV8NiCSKi3pZAOJQIBV0XRdVmLo76Hc5ytLWmcq2yGcB2A9LLjSYSRctqhfp1fo8FCaDPpC29a1EShsF6DqhoIkm0m8VUS_MrTG7NVxa5mpJRWo/s1600/2010-05-02+12-17-55+-+DSCF2059.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 314px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlc-XL53Z3vbE0FxnPMwEYsoz55ivmoV8NiCSKi3pZAOJQIBV0XRdVmLo76Hc5ytLWmcq2yGcB2A9LLjSYSRctqhfp1fo8FCaDPpC29a1EShsF6DqhoIkm0m8VUS_MrTG7NVxa5mpJRWo/s320/2010-05-02+12-17-55+-+DSCF2059.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689106950180866" /></a><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>This layout was the second one I did in only about 30 minutes! Crazy I tell you! This is of my boy Cameron. I used some old school Chatterbox patterned paper, Bazzill Cardstock, Basic Grey chipboard, Fancy Pants chipboard star, American Crafts Alpha Letters, & Cosmo Cricket letter "C". I used the same Chatterbox patterned paper on both the star and letter "C". Very quick & easy! Love it!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqAvPTVhUuULBbZPuYGm6TquXod3yANxyYgkP33rVaK74D6iCkTzxbVGj1uO18IqaROyToGVG_rk59mIH21WYMOHmISD7cwgHYGddST8eKLJjJZfK8wEHmH_-8VwqrhJdLE6lUv_RZ_o/s1600/2010-05-02+14-11-53+-+DSCF2064.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 318px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLqAvPTVhUuULBbZPuYGm6TquXod3yANxyYgkP33rVaK74D6iCkTzxbVGj1uO18IqaROyToGVG_rk59mIH21WYMOHmISD7cwgHYGddST8eKLJjJZfK8wEHmH_-8VwqrhJdLE6lUv_RZ_o/s320/2010-05-02+14-11-53+-+DSCF2064.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689098188942882" /></a><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>This is one of my favorites for sure! This was done for another challenge during NSD weekend at Simply Scrapping Crafts. You had to use as many of 5 techniques as you could. I used all 5 which were rolled paper, starburst flower, distressing, stitching & a really cool flower border at the bottom there. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane, flower & swirl stamp from Fancy Pants, border from We R Memory Keepers, title stamps from Unity Stamp Company, & Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Love these colors and this was so fun to do.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUwujmSitgSQBftZGFhyphenhyphenYcBYo1ADgdBeFkdHO3gEFZRlbXKzpl4tgdQzLKlAG3rAKM0TlmQnSEwxs_AQCIP0cgtNekRTECCOaf5q03K_m1bLABtePMrOTMjcVBgP5ph7iEmGuU6zNV2gM/s1600/2010-05-03+22-47-49+-+DSCF2068.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 312px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUwujmSitgSQBftZGFhyphenhyphenYcBYo1ADgdBeFkdHO3gEFZRlbXKzpl4tgdQzLKlAG3rAKM0TlmQnSEwxs_AQCIP0cgtNekRTECCOaf5q03K_m1bLABtePMrOTMjcVBgP5ph7iEmGuU6zNV2gM/s320/2010-05-03+22-47-49+-+DSCF2068.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689094632263634" /></a><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>This was a really quick card I made again for a Simply Scrapping Crafts challenge. You had to use your favorites and the sentiment had to express love. Everything is my favorite in my craft room so this was a bit difficult to narrow down so, I just kinda closed my eyes and grabbed things that worked! The paper, ribbon & buttons are from a Scarlet Lime kit, butterfly stamp is from Unity Stamp Company, Jewels from K & Company, cardstock of course Bazzill. Great easy card with lots of color!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMvEz3pWTdkJYQCVWlLJqkWwnd9O2Ccmy90U15OtXDqd-vxlR2Q1SlmoJ8EpM3zqjKMJUYJQOqRFqvoV6hXdEbuDTge7vMpjdi6It-ECDfSv6dxbZZ3LwT-Z9Q2eyBPFkYC3stIv8wy7g/s1600/2010-05-03+23-43-15+-+DSCF2083.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 304px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMvEz3pWTdkJYQCVWlLJqkWwnd9O2Ccmy90U15OtXDqd-vxlR2Q1SlmoJ8EpM3zqjKMJUYJQOqRFqvoV6hXdEbuDTge7vMpjdi6It-ECDfSv6dxbZZ3LwT-Z9Q2eyBPFkYC3stIv8wy7g/s320/2010-05-03+23-43-15+-+DSCF2083.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468689085625356306" /></a>Well that about wraps it up for now! Mine was very tiring and busy as usual. My son Cameron had his first soccer game of the season today and he did great! It was nice to get out there and watch him play again. Today was my Hubby's birthday and he spent it working :{ I had lots of time in my craft room this weekend so that was nice for a change. I made a layout based off of a sketch from this really cool site called</span><a href="http://letsscrap.ning.com/"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"> Let's Scrap</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"> over on Ning. It's a challenge site and they have lots of great inspiration to get your mojo flowing! They are having a DT Call over there until April 16th so I thought I would give it a whirl! You can find the sketch and information about the DT Call on the main page of the site.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'lucida grande';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">Below is my take on the sketch. This is of my daughter Finley and when she got her face painted like a butterfly. The title is "Flutter Wonder" and that's the title Finley chose when she saw the layout. I thought it was a great choice! I used Basic Grey Kioshi paper, chipboard flowers from Making Memories, K & Company flower stickers, Inque Boutique butterfly stamp, cut all die cuts on my Quickutz Silhouette. I also used some 3mm Swarovski Crystals for the circle on the bottom left and on the butterfly. I think the papers really bring out her eyes :}</span><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGjicuU9IDAVuYLFLrGQR0PsbQrNxNih8-ADz9JDhl77xe_yjS1d9zE9Ua2qv6bziMuihLhJ3zsD3QDrtV06RJnhm13njWmevelXQDtovWyAqFdt62SVz9F6s9pDnnndwGstRxSQEI6XY/s1600/2010-04-11+17-36-53+-+DSCF1980.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 307px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGjicuU9IDAVuYLFLrGQR0PsbQrNxNih8-ADz9JDhl77xe_yjS1d9zE9Ua2qv6bziMuihLhJ3zsD3QDrtV06RJnhm13njWmevelXQDtovWyAqFdt62SVz9F6s9pDnnndwGstRxSQEI6XY/s320/2010-04-11+17-36-53+-+DSCF1980.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459081465282954306" /></a><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMOFOnf8an3WY21Pz_2EM_-gCy2un5X_YPZBxAvcxoI1Hgicv1n2x743MeKmYCW4V5GOOFILMQPWH-YNY0oeekex_MRz1qFahfemLS8TtXk4qfn_qWRlZMRuiQZEwXxzkB71JCFOwybLo/s1600/2010-04-11+17-37-08+-+DSCF1981.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMOFOnf8an3WY21Pz_2EM_-gCy2un5X_YPZBxAvcxoI1Hgicv1n2x743MeKmYCW4V5GOOFILMQPWH-YNY0oeekex_MRz1qFahfemLS8TtXk4qfn_qWRlZMRuiQZEwXxzkB71JCFOwybLo/s320/2010-04-11+17-37-08+-+DSCF1981.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459081455353354754" /></a><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbFG5H1Yb1p_cdXyxcuLLpNnrGQy51Oam5EIgnD-YG265nCT3qKIGa0zBcn8Y4hKlGbQ6drbY_6hMeCfhpHYhxWQpUVV_-EJcIsoyr_YJkZf5_A89oXdSaGvOKJni3vnn9yLm_PhsOSnk/s1600/2010-04-11+17-37-27+-+DSCF1982.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbFG5H1Yb1p_cdXyxcuLLpNnrGQy51Oam5EIgnD-YG265nCT3qKIGa0zBcn8Y4hKlGbQ6drbY_6hMeCfhpHYhxWQpUVV_-EJcIsoyr_YJkZf5_A89oXdSaGvOKJni3vnn9yLm_PhsOSnk/s320/2010-04-11+17-37-27+-+DSCF1982.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459081445642342146" /></a>Below is the card I made for my awesome Hubby! Happy Birthday baby! This is for the April 2010 week #1 Card Challenge over at <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/">Simply Scrapping Crafts </a>on Ning. It's hard to see, but I made it on a clear transparency background. I used American Crafts papers, Fancy Pants clear acrylic circle, star & sentiment spot, Unity Stamps, The Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard & Inque Boutique, random buttons, stitching & ribbon. I used a piece of mercerized cotton to tie on the star. Hubby loved his card and then I promptly took it away to get pictures and upload it! I took a black & white photo of her and went into my ACDSee Photo Editor and made only the blue of her eyes show through. You take two of the same photo, one color on the bottom and one black & white on top, and lay ontop of each other and then use the eraser tool to erase the area of the top photo to allow the colored portion of the bottom photo to show through. Isn't that neat? Very simple to do and gives a very cool effect! If you happen to try it please do send me a photo of your project so I can see how it turned out :}</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#CC33CC;"><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcBO7J3DhnFNNFJsW8CjCbjSQgyEz1LWrgcPSOvI_t7AuwMNiYTyw9_u7HilYkdKYzed-LCyIGoH_pvPU4lxChjNHgvkuI4b0LgJ3-nImTQP0Jk_3INxNAyqKgmz1KKG7JylFLIdI0s0M/s1600/2009-11-18+14-35-02+-+DSCF0230.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 318px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcBO7J3DhnFNNFJsW8CjCbjSQgyEz1LWrgcPSOvI_t7AuwMNiYTyw9_u7HilYkdKYzed-LCyIGoH_pvPU4lxChjNHgvkuI4b0LgJ3-nImTQP0Jk_3INxNAyqKgmz1KKG7JylFLIdI0s0M/s320/2009-11-18+14-35-02+-+DSCF0230.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457228140690481730" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#993399;">I used Daisy D's paper, Making Memories ribbon, Cosmo Cricket chipboard letters hat I painted to match, the large flower, pearls on the letters & butterfly ribbon are from a Scarlet Lime kit, and I used my Quickutz Silhouette to cut all the fancy borders and finally added stitching and my journaling around the outside. I'm back in the swing of things and can't wait to show you some of what I've been up to lately. Been having alot of fun doing some challenges over at Simply Scrapping Crafts.com. It's a great site with lots of challenges to keep you inspired. You can check it out <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/">here</a>. On to the good stuff!<br /><br />The layout below is of my son Cameron and his "Cat That Ate The Canary" smile he always gives. You know he's done something wrong if you get this smile that's for sure!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkdYBgzp5T3d445mn6IF72cT5ksDQisBjowtjVhfzSxGYEHM0rXCdF6RuI3H9frCaRc9GHC7S15beOrpvvgrZoNQsT0_gbfDN20-8M8TQYIXstV1umz3heEDOWJbm4JLW9cMGCLRuXjk/s1600/609.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 313px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIkdYBgzp5T3d445mn6IF72cT5ksDQisBjowtjVhfzSxGYEHM0rXCdF6RuI3H9frCaRc9GHC7S15beOrpvvgrZoNQsT0_gbfDN20-8M8TQYIXstV1umz3heEDOWJbm4JLW9cMGCLRuXjk/s320/609.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454625594750546610" /></a>I used everything from the Scarlet Lime January 2010 kit <a href="http://www.scarletlime.com/kits/January10.html">here</a>. Love her kits! You gotta check them out because they rock!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPpxtpuvrijcWE9JCypy4R06AV6tSE_ueABc99cWLCy1-V7L4B1yr62_chCuxNj5mXq3f604_mZEF2Lzy87LlNtISVl3HcWVJ_P0UJhJz-hi_Fi3PtyI8L2FNN_SzwHdQ4woToyCbGnM0/s1600/611.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPpxtpuvrijcWE9JCypy4R06AV6tSE_ueABc99cWLCy1-V7L4B1yr62_chCuxNj5mXq3f604_mZEF2Lzy87LlNtISVl3HcWVJ_P0UJhJz-hi_Fi3PtyI8L2FNN_SzwHdQ4woToyCbGnM0/s320/611.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454625220242591346" /></a>Below is a layout I just did for a color challenge over at <a href="http://www.scarletlime.com/kits/May09.html">Simply Scrapping</a> and I think it turned out pretty good. It's of my dog Shank, who we love so much. The name shank was given to him by his previous owners, not one we would have chosen, but we call him Doodles instead. I used another Scarlet Lime kit mostly from May 2009 kit <a href="http://www.scarletlime.com/kits/May09.html">here</a>. Isn't he adorable! This is the best picture I've ever been able to get of him because he's really scared of the camera for some reason.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjos0VlNZ9Da0riUu-zR0PhNnqrbwC4-UG_fvaFBabGPGJ48V7EjLuRV0smdiGezPMRn51ogynHJ2awgutPk-BTPw4U247leEH6oSdb6rENHf8oOaIIzpb9MDVgaJDBGr_ZLK-wTP8PCgQ/s1600/600.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 298px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjos0VlNZ9Da0riUu-zR0PhNnqrbwC4-UG_fvaFBabGPGJ48V7EjLuRV0smdiGezPMRn51ogynHJ2awgutPk-BTPw4U247leEH6oSdb6rENHf8oOaIIzpb9MDVgaJDBGr_ZLK-wTP8PCgQ/s320/600.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454625210180871250" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh55U6-wls0wWNUeC0Bk1oR_eX3IIYwzcHfTcUt64pj2OY0Mns2i3JKk1AyTiV02eqcP-zA924P1DBVq8_YArqrybUcZXVSs2ZLXn8wbWCJSl0bx_etJILwkcq3KgHdTSaD0PPwGiw6H1A/s1600/601.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh55U6-wls0wWNUeC0Bk1oR_eX3IIYwzcHfTcUt64pj2OY0Mns2i3JKk1AyTiV02eqcP-zA924P1DBVq8_YArqrybUcZXVSs2ZLXn8wbWCJSl0bx_etJILwkcq3KgHdTSaD0PPwGiw6H1A/s320/601.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454625204751446146" /></a>Below is a card I did for another challenge over at <a href="http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/">Simply Scrapping</a> for a color challenge. Hope you have fun and there will be a chance to win a small little goodie from me if you leave a comment! I will randomly draw a name from all the blog hoppers on Monday! Once you are done the Blog Hop you must go back to The Ch{all}enge Masters Blog and leave a comment that you visited all of blogs in The Jingle Bell Hop to be eligable to win the grand prize! Now, on to the good stuff!<br /><br />Christmas time is such a magical time of year and brings us back to our childhoods with memories of the anticipation of Santa coming down the chimney with tons of gifts! My mother worked hard to make Christmas a very magical time with all the gorgeous decorations, beautifully wrapped gifts and all the fun things we got to do to celebrate the season.<br /><br />Below you will find a project that I thought symbolized all those magical memories from when I was a child. and was just the sort of project my mother and I would do during this time of year. I hope you enjoy it and try it in some fashion yourself! If you do, please send me a link so I can see it! Love this!!!<br /><br />I saw a show on Martha Stewart where she made a wreath completely with fresh cranberries. I so love cranberries and just had to do a project with them myself. To me, cranberries is a big symbol of the season and I have them everywhere you look!<br /><br />You will need a foam shape of some sort, wether it's a wreath, ball, cone etc. A pack of toothpicks, fresh cranberries, ribbon, hot glue gun, & any other decoration you would like to use like flowers, buttons, or you can just use the cranberries by themselves.<br /><br />I chose to do cranberry ball hanging from ribbon. You can hang these on your tree, porch or anywhere really and they should last about 2 weeks, at least that's what Martha says ;}<br /><br />First, paint the ball a Christmas color of your choice.Take a toothpick and insert it into the stem end of the cranberry and then insert into the styrofoam ball. Continue to do thia all the way around to cover the entire ball. It may be better to add some hot glue and then put them into the ball to add some strength. I had to do this on some as they would come lose and fall out on a couple of them.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1U3H7NTxVjjKRqYEOKT9waQzfZqMMuqmkVRU-xxTG-2YWPVR80jp8ENLZwnp_XivOnlSsaoEEwB0Zot58tC-5kQfUr4X5QJMpW9dQlVJIwLZ3EE2eC0eAo2wbI9P1NGXtPIe0tlAeaIY/s1600-h/2009-12-04+14-57-08+-+DSCF0497.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 290px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411745499160624242" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1U3H7NTxVjjKRqYEOKT9waQzfZqMMuqmkVRU-xxTG-2YWPVR80jp8ENLZwnp_XivOnlSsaoEEwB0Zot58tC-5kQfUr4X5QJMpW9dQlVJIwLZ3EE2eC0eAo2wbI9P1NGXtPIe0tlAeaIY/s320/2009-12-04+14-57-08+-+DSCF0497.jpg" /></a><br /><br />Then, cut a long length of ribbon and hot glue the center of the ribbon to the top of your ball. Be sure to leave a bit of room at the top without any cranberries to do this. Then add your cranberries to cover the glued ribbon at the top.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt5gU4K6yN2DnTRgQuyySdZKY9kxBwvN__EqhYPAzgsTEbvx-IPM-s1JMgQkT1Or8QCxwIXFP-qq0u3G-8_IeNqVwwCKVAD-RJhMs1Rx8I5Vs6tLgU1P2tNaTCZZfBkICRAh3kWHJK_-U/s1600-h/2009-12-04+15-09-02+-+DSCF0499.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411745365852666850" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt5gU4K6yN2DnTRgQuyySdZKY9kxBwvN__EqhYPAzgsTEbvx-IPM-s1JMgQkT1Or8QCxwIXFP-qq0u3G-8_IeNqVwwCKVAD-RJhMs1Rx8I5Vs6tLgU1P2tNaTCZZfBkICRAh3kWHJK_-U/s320/2009-12-04+15-09-02+-+DSCF0499.jpg" /></a><br /><br />This is what it looks like completed. Sorry, I didn't have time to take another pic of the construction for you, but you can clearly see what was added and how.I tied the ribbon into a bow at the top and added Making Memories flowers, with gold brads in the centers, around the ball. I also added a gold glittered star from Making Memories at the top.You could leave it plain with just cranberries or add buttons or other types of embellishments, it just depends on your style. The picture below shows what it looks like hanging on the tree without any lights on.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy6FdvW5M1MPfqZas6uORqRbJqGIPMmX3zHaFdQgT9RBoz-XIoyDJiPr7yqj9U0JEBGFZcf3Tjw7ZjLCTKPH2uDI3DLjCCgMkGvOdqro_2Cd45UhZ3d0-yQHGoWOtVfhYC2qglTKgrhDk/s1600-h/2009-12-04+20-22-54+-+DSCF0501.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411745361598772738" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy6FdvW5M1MPfqZas6uORqRbJqGIPMmX3zHaFdQgT9RBoz-XIoyDJiPr7yqj9U0JEBGFZcf3Tjw7ZjLCTKPH2uDI3DLjCCgMkGvOdqro_2Cd45UhZ3d0-yQHGoWOtVfhYC2qglTKgrhDk/s320/2009-12-04+20-22-54+-+DSCF0501.jpg" /></a><br /><br />Below is what it looks like with lights on and it's quite pretty. How ya'll doing today? How was your Halloween? Spooky fun I hope! I apologize AGAIN for not doing a post for a WEEK! I couldn't get any busier if I tried! We've had much illness around this house and my kids and husband don't ever get sick at the same time, they get sick one by one so it lasts FOREVER!!! Halloween kept me very busy, but it was so much fun to dress up with the kids and go Trick Or Treating in our neighborhood. Even though ot rained, the kids had a blast and collected gobs of candy. What did you do for Halloween?<br /><br />Aside from illness and Halloween, I was pretty busy in the craft room too. I'm so very excited to announce the first ever "Book Of Him" Challenge over at Ch{all}enge Masters!! That's right! The November 2009 Challenge is up so hop on over there and be inspired with not only the "Book Of Him" Challenge, but all 15 or so more!! This site has the best group of ladies on the web and the most inspiring and TALENTED!! Plus, when you submit your project to any challenge your automatically entered to win an awesome lot of scrappin goodies!! Hope to see you there!!<br /><br />Below you will find my take on the November "Book Of Him" Challenge. What do you think? I apologize for the bad lighting, it was very late at night on Halloween when I took the pics. This was a definite challenge for sure. We had to include on the layout:<br />* his name somewhere on the layout<br />* at least 5 things about him<br />* his handwriting somewhere<br />* describe my first impression of him<br />* had to include at least one photo<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFvouChNNYfwg3XDmZCd3Mdo9icfNhkUMn_g4U78462dH4AV0AS9a2bhGdnGG-2HoUj3G47cleKg3FJtHnK49p-u1plW_7NAdY7DJnw_t4O3uCiaov7xRCVauCfTVFT6m8CvLQClf2nEs/s1600-h/myheartandsoul.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 317px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400311615288556674" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFvouChNNYfwg3XDmZCd3Mdo9icfNhkUMn_g4U78462dH4AV0AS9a2bhGdnGG-2HoUj3G47cleKg3FJtHnK49p-u1plW_7NAdY7DJnw_t4O3uCiaov7xRCVauCfTVFT6m8CvLQClf2nEs/s320/myheartandsoul.jpg" /></a><br />Don't you just love the smaller photo of my DH? That's the real him! Below is a closer pic of his handwriting listing 10 things about him. Can you tell he's a bit sarcastic, or as he would say facetious? The papers on this layout are from Pink Paisley, chipboard from Fancy Pants and that's most of it.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCE0hhJk5Fs4SEaOVAe-O2os2TCB_RjGZiwZkAkugyrsZlirxSr46z3G1xcfxoYyjnyE44n1hlOp4WkBN0m28cxz9F_tlhAtiCeL61KBcgnXCmFd-31Y3da2MWv9n_nwjU50QRzuHT-zQ/s1600-h/detail2.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400311611820121778" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCE0hhJk5Fs4SEaOVAe-O2os2TCB_RjGZiwZkAkugyrsZlirxSr46z3G1xcfxoYyjnyE44n1hlOp4WkBN0m28cxz9F_tlhAtiCeL61KBcgnXCmFd-31Y3da2MWv9n_nwjU50QRzuHT-zQ/s320/detail2.jpg" /></a><br />Below is a close-up of my first impression of him. The paper is from Scarlet Lime's October Kit as well as the chipboard. The ribbon is from Making memories (I believe). I made the flower by taking about a 2 x 6 inch strip of patterned paper and rolling it like making a fan, alternating sides, glued the edges together and placed a chipboard circle & button in the center. Easy! I think this card works well for a man and is a bit unexpected :}<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1LzsXflh7pbeMYqpz7uP-K4PWwiBm2mzwxyeE36M2u_ZRFmeM0R84PM6jn8dCxTrCOUS2szN7yDnFW-PScGIosXTh0p_UhLmbzqQC1Few68TOHNpNJUscCIVY8ti2t3SUMwelx2UebB8/s1600-h/2009-10-25+14-29-47+-+DSCF7682.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 242px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400307070534306578" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1LzsXflh7pbeMYqpz7uP-K4PWwiBm2mzwxyeE36M2u_ZRFmeM0R84PM6jn8dCxTrCOUS2szN7yDnFW-PScGIosXTh0p_UhLmbzqQC1Few68TOHNpNJUscCIVY8ti2t3SUMwelx2UebB8/s320/2009-10-25+14-29-47+-+DSCF7682.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUoXn0sCSt4kIHC4HPLQlkevwJSbT50EF6Oa9TD_61A1uNiAsFpaEW2LVgdihEZlxluevdusw-rC5bHv1A1N9hR5DHQDWgTYpwfPDMyBHkNzt9tnWR9KHsvi-UUOlb_RpAZw0ykCwQLzA/s1600-h/2009-10-25+14-31-47+-+DSCF7693.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400307062008540466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUoXn0sCSt4kIHC4HPLQlkevwJSbT50EF6Oa9TD_61A1uNiAsFpaEW2LVgdihEZlxluevdusw-rC5bHv1A1N9hR5DHQDWgTYpwfPDMyBHkNzt9tnWR9KHsvi-UUOlb_RpAZw0ykCwQLzA/s320/2009-10-25+14-31-47+-+DSCF7693.jpg" /></a> </div><div>I'm very excited because I'm working on a card that going to be entered for Cutter's Creek DT Call!! <br />This is of the big pumpkin carving party we have every year. We buy a ton of pumkins and take two days carving them. It makes an awesome display on Halloween.

<br />My cat Sissy Puss always has to be in the middle of everything! She also has to "claim" any new items on a table or floor as her own. This layout is of Sissy Puss sitting pretty in the middle of a fall wreath I was making a couple of years ago. Crazy Cat!

<br />That's it for tonight! Gotta get some sleep so I have enough energy to chase after the kids tomorrow. I'll post some more yummies again real soon!

I have some more tweaking of the template to do and a few other things. I have waited a long time to finally start a blog and have a place where I can hopefully inspire others with all of my creations and to be inspired by all who surround me, or follow me.<br /><br />Thanks to an awesome friend of mine, Lisa, who has encouraged me to get out there and start applying for Design Team Calls and entering my projects for online challenges. Well Lisa, I'm finally doing it girl! I don't know if I have what it takes to be on a DT, but it's sure fun trying!<br /><br />I have always had a strong interest in working with my hands and creating with my mind beautiful things to look at. Color, texture and design always pulls me in and grabs my attention. Fall is a splendid time of year and is host to some of my favorite color combos. Here are some of my latest creations that truly reflect my love of Fall and all the season has to offer.<br /><br /><br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 323px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395133946670185730" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCEBdwcybyHlSakthAotyxOWRk08dLyNTr66VmZjGszA8f01Q_w8hKdizdOI_xtHS-noi_x_N6o6ilWyVr3QIwusS7RRw7MwuIhawxd5GuN3fXJsM7alv1FN0C58RA3OsyH61CP05z3ZY/s400/2009-10-19+11-32-18+-+DSCF7347.jpg" /><br />This is a little birthday card I made.
