Once you are done the Blog Hop you must go back to The Ch{all}enge Masters Blog and leave a comment that you visited all of blogs in The Jingle Bell Hop to be eligable to win the grand prize! Now, on to the good stuff!

Christmas time is such a magical time of year and brings us back to our childhoods with memories of the anticipation of Santa coming down the chimney with tons of gifts! My mother worked hard to make Christmas a very magical time with all the gorgeous decorations, beautifully wrapped gifts and all the fun things we got to do to celebrate the season.

Below you will find a project that I thought symbolized all those magical memories from when I was a child. and was just the sort of project my mother and I would do during this time of year. I hope you enjoy it and try it in some fashion yourself! If you do, please send me a link so I can see it! Love this!!!

I saw a show on Martha Stewart where she made a wreath completely with fresh cranberries. I so love cranberries and just had to do a project with them myself. To me, cranberries is a big symbol of the season and I have them everywhere you look!

You will need a foam shape of some sort, wether it's a wreath, ball, cone etc. A pack of toothpicks, fresh cranberries, ribbon, hot glue gun, & any other decoration you would like to use like flowers, buttons, or you can just use the cranberries by themselves.

I chose to do cranberry ball hanging from ribbon. You can hang these on your tree, porch or anywhere really and they should last about 2 weeks, at least that's what Martha says ;}

First, paint the ball a Christmas color of your choice.Take a toothpick and insert it into the stem end of the cranberry and then insert into the styrofoam ball. Continue to do thia all the way around to cover the entire ball. It may be better to add some hot glue and then put them into the ball to add some strength. I had to do this on some as they would come lose and fall out on a couple of them.

Then, cut a long length of ribbon and hot glue the center of the ribbon to the top of your ball. Be sure to leave a bit of room at the top without any cranberries to do this. Then add your cranberries to cover the glued ribbon at the top.

This is what it looks like completed. Sorry, I didn't have time to take another pic of the construction for you, but you can clearly see what was added and how.I tied the ribbon into a bow at the top and added Making Memories flowers, with gold brads in the centers, around the ball. I also added a gold glittered star from Making Memories at the top.You could leave it plain with just cranberries or add buttons or other types of embellishments, it just depends on your style. The picture below shows what it looks like hanging on the tree without any lights on.

Below is what it looks like with lights on and it's quite pretty. You could hang this under the fireplace too, or on a door.

This what it would looh like on the door.

If you leave me a comment you will be entered into a drawing to win an awesome bag of Ki Memories Ribbons! There are at least 28, it was hard to count them all jumbled up in the bag and I didn't want to open them, different ribbons all 1 yard each! This is a great little gift for yourself or someone on your list! I will ship these anywhere in the US or Canada. Sorry I can not ship elsewhere internationally. I will randomly draw a name to win the ribbon on Monday December 7th so be sure to stop back and see who won!! I hope you enjoyed my blog and I would love it if you followed me :} Have fun hopping!!

Now you need to go over a visit Lisa's Blog! Have fun!

Life is good...and crazy!!

Hey Everyone! How ya'll doing today? How was your Halloween? Spooky fun I hope! I apologize AGAIN for not doing a post for a WEEK! I couldn't get any busier if I tried! We've had much illness around this house and my kids and husband don't ever get sick at the same time, they get sick one by one so it lasts FOREVER!!! Halloween kept me very busy, but it was so much fun to dress up with the kids and go Trick Or Treating in our neighborhood. Even though ot rained, the kids had a blast and collected gobs of candy. What did you do for Halloween?

Aside from illness and Halloween, I was pretty busy in the craft room too. I'm so very excited to announce the first ever "Book Of Him" Challenge over at Ch{all}enge Masters!! That's right! The November 2009 Challenge is up so hop on over there and be inspired with not only the "Book Of Him" Challenge, but all 15 or so more!! This site has the best group of ladies on the web and the most inspiring and TALENTED!! Plus, when you submit your project to any challenge your automatically entered to win an awesome lot of scrappin goodies!! Hope to see you there!!

Below you will find my take on the November "Book Of Him" Challenge. What do you think? I apologize for the bad lighting, it was very late at night on Halloween when I took the pics. This was a definite challenge for sure. We had to include on the layout:
* his name somewhere on the layout
* at least 5 things about him
* his handwriting somewhere
* describe my first impression of him
* had to include at least one photo

Don't you just love the smaller photo of my DH? That's the real him! Below is a closer pic of his handwriting listing 10 things about him. Can you tell he's a bit sarcastic, or as he would say facetious? The papers on this layout are from Pink Paisley, chipboard from Fancy Pants and that's most of it.

Below is a close-up of my first impression of him. I was intrigued to say the least ;}

I had a great time creating this layout and think it fits him perfectly!

Below is a card I made for another DT Call and I think it's really cute! The paper is from My Mind's Eye, cardstock Bazzil Basics. I stamped a flower with Pebbles Inc foam stamps and then Heat Embossed with multiple colors layered for this effect. Neat technique!

This card I made for my son's Soccer Coach and for the DT Call as well. The paper is from Scarlet Lime's October Kit as well as the chipboard. The ribbon is from Making memories (I believe). I made the flower by taking about a 2 x 6 inch strip of patterned paper and rolling it like making a fan, alternating sides, glued the edges together and placed a chipboard circle & button in the center. Easy! I think this card works well for a man and is a bit unexpected :}

I'm very excited because I'm working on a card that going to be entered for Cutter's Creek DT Call!! Cutter's Creek is an awesome online scrapbooking store and the owner, Kimberly, has a Yahoo group for the site and a few others groups as well. Here's a link: https://www.cutterscreek.com/store/. Here's a link to the blog: http://cutterscreekdesignteam.blogspot.com/. I can't wait to find out who makes the DT and to see all their awesome creations! I so love to be inspired by other's work, but the best is to inspire others with mine. On that note, must go and get these crazy kids to bed......and work on my card!! See you all soon! TTFN!

Some More Yummy Stuff

Tonight I'm excited for a couple reasons; 1) I get to show you some more yummy creations of mine, 2) I entered my second DT Call earlier this evening and I can't wait to find out who gets it. There is a new card kit site that has the most scrumptious and gorgeous card kits! You have to go visit them http://www.thelittleshabbybox.com/ and see for yourself ;}

Also, we were all under the weather this past week so I wasn't able to blog everyday like I wanted to. I am posting just a few of my layouts here but, if you want to see more please visit my gallery at Two Peas https://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userprofile.asp?user_id=370808.
I'm super excited to find out about the winners of the Ch{all}enge Masters DT Call later today! My fingers are crossed!

Below is a layout I did using the September Kit from Scarlet Lime. This is of my daughter Finley. Isn't she cute? I had alot of fun doing this layout and think it turned out great!

I will come back and add what was used on each layout when I have more time tomorow ;} Enjoy and please don't hesitate to leave a comment letting me know you stopped by.

This layout is of me! The very first and only one of me too. This was also done with a Scarlet Lime Kit. Love them!!

This is one of my favorite layots because it's of my baby girl Lily, or Pudge as we like to call her, and because of the beautiful bright colors.

This is of the big pumpkin carving party we have every year. We buy a ton of pumkins and take two days carving them. It makes an awesome display on Halloween.

My cat Sissy Puss always has to be in the middle of everything! She also has to "claim" any new items on a table or floor as her own. This layout is of Sissy Puss sitting pretty in the middle of a fall wreath I was making a couple of years ago. Crazy Cat!

That's it for tonight! Gotta get some sleep so I have enough energy to chase after the kids tomorrow. I'll post some more yummies again real soon!

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

I am so excited to finally start my blog today! I have some more tweaking of the template to do and a few other things. I have waited a long time to finally start a blog and have a place where I can hopefully inspire others with all of my creations and to be inspired by all who surround me, or follow me.

Thanks to an awesome friend of mine, Lisa, who has encouraged me to get out there and start applying for Design Team Calls and entering my projects for online challenges. Well Lisa, I'm finally doing it girl! I don't know if I have what it takes to be on a DT, but it's sure fun trying!

I have always had a strong interest in working with my hands and creating with my mind beautiful things to look at. Color, texture and design always pulls me in and grabs my attention. Fall is a splendid time of year and is host to some of my favorite color combos. Here are some of my latest creations that truly reflect my love of Fall and all the season has to offer.

This is a little birthday card I made. It's 5.5 x 4.25 inches with Bazzill cardstock, MME patterned paper, Prima flowers with cutouts from from fabric on them, ribbon American Crafts, Buttons Bazzill Basics. Stamps Inque Boutique and thread from local craft supply. Cute!

This card was fun to make. I love purple and orange together for Halloween. I used Bazzill cardstock and made a 7 x 6 inch card, used Daisy D's pp, lace cardstock KI Memories, web, boot & spider die-cuts used Quickutz Silhouette SD, Stamps Inque Boutique, Ribbon & rub-ons Cosmo Cricket. I heat embossed a stamped image on the boot and used stickles glitter glue on the web.

This card screams fall to me! I made a 7.5 x 6 inch card using bazzill cardstock, Scrapworks PP, ribbon was from Oct. 2009 Scarlet Lime Kit, Fibers Basic Grey, Stamps Inque Boutique. I heat embossed the stamp image around the circle.

I adore the colors in this card. Card is 8 x 6 inches using Bazzill cardstock, MME PP, Lace cardstock KI Memories, chipboard flower & journal spot MME, stamps Autumn Leaves, flowers Prima, border MME, ribbon making memories. I made a curtain effect with the ribbon under the border.

This is a little cutesy card. Car is 7 x 5 inches Using Bazzill cardstock, PP unknown, fibers Basic Grey, felt border, Queen & Co., journal spot and monogram MME, paper pumpkins & leaf Making Memories, stamp Studio G.

This is the inside of the card first. I cut a portion from Daisy D's Halloween paper and hand stitched with Basic Grey fibers around the cat, then glued Basic Grey fibers around the skeleton's head. I used Stickles Glitter Glue around the bat and mask. Cute!

This is the outside of the card. Card is 8 x 6 inch and I hand cut a frame and stamped a border around it with Stickles Glitter Glue dots to accent. I used ribbon from Cosmo Cricket on either side and heat embossed the stars, bat & around the frame of "Happy Halloween". Love this card! I had so much fun making it!

Now this might be my favorite card so far! I made a 7.5 x 6 inch card using Bazzill cardstock, then used two black Cosmo Cricket chipboard pumpkins and covered them with MME paper and sand the edges bit. I tied Basic Grey fibers around the stems. Heat embossed the frame, pumpkins (including eyes & noses), "boo" word and banner. The background paper is MME as well. Lastly I put a bit of Basic Grey Ribbon along the bottom. Love it!

Love this color combo too! Made a 7 x 4.25 inch card using Bazzill cardstock, MME paper, ribbon American Crafts & Making Memories, stamps Cosmo Cricket, die-cut card, vine & edge of blue cardstock with Quickutz Silhouette. I took the ribbon and layered it on a Cosmo Cricket black pumpkin and put a bit of ribbon for the stem. Lastly, I heat embossed the leaves on the bottom. Love it!

I'm really loving using heat embossing on my projects, can you tell? If your reading this thank you for giving my new blog your time. I brought you cards today, layouts are tomorrow! I have bunches of those that I've done lately. Feel free to leave a comment good or bad. Wish me luck as I apply for my first DT call at http://challengemasters.ning.com/ and I can't wait! Check this site out it's awesome! I'm going to try a few more over the next week or two as well. TTFN!
